Healthy Habits That Will Improve Your Life

Healthy Habits That Will Improve Your Life

Right now more than ever, we are seeing a rise in the need to practice healthy habits at all times. Whether we are trying to shake off the latest flu or we just want to make healthier lifestyle choices, finding healthy habits that will improve our life is a difficult but necessary task that we must all undertake.

At Purlife, we love the idea of taking a few, well-guided steps every day to achieve an overall improvement in one’s mental, spiritual, and physical health. All of which are important.

Make a Routine

We all have a limited amount of brainpower that allows us to function effectively and efficiently throughout the day, but occasionally we hit Empty, and making decisions becomes harder. We either make poor decisions or we give up altogether and don’t make a decision at all.

It’s okay, we’ve all been there; where we just want somebody else to pick what we watch on Netflix or what we have for dinner. It’s not that we don’t care, but that making the decision requires too much more brainpower than we have at the moment… But how do we remedy this?

Make a routine that works for you! Routines limit how many decisions you make throughout the day so when it comes to having to make decisions, you have more energy to do it.

Start with what you eat and choose to eat the same healthy breakfast every day or choose to have a salad for lunch no matter the day of the week. Trust me, this makes a noticeable difference!

Take Regular Walks

Humans weren’t built to be sedentary people, but many of us work at a desk for 8 or more hours a day. This can result in increased health issues and poor exercise behaviors.

In addition to the physical issues that sitting for too long can cause, staring at a computer screen for hours at a time can strain your eyes and drain your focus. Many health professionals already recommend taking a break from screens every few hours at work. Standing up and taking a short stroll on your break can be a great way to both stand-up and give your eyes a break for a minute.

Try to make taking a walk after any time that you eat a meal a habit that you follow. This is an excellent way to make sure that you get light exercise while giving yourself time to clear your head.

Take a Meditation Break

If you have never practiced guided meditation or transcendental meditation, there is never a bad time to start meditating. Meditation is a simple way to help clear your mind, restore your focus, increase energy levels, and improve your life.

Whether you are meditating to align your chakras or simply want to get beneath the surface of your thoughts with mindfulness, meditation is an incredibly effective way to make a difference in your life.

Your mind is like an ocean. At the surface, the waves are loud and distracting, but beneath the surface, there is tranquility. Meditation helps you reach that deeper state of mind that allows you to make better decisions.
